Tanisha Chambers is a passionate children’s author, storyteller, and creator who believes every child deserves to see themselves represented in the stories they read.
A natural storyteller from a young age, Tanisha began writing poetry and short stories as a child. Years later, her greatest inspiration would come from an unexpected place—her younger sister, Zuri. When Zuri was just four years old, Tanisha and Zuri created their very first story, Zuri and the Monster. That childhood creation became the beginning of what would grow into Zuri Adventures Books.
Through her stories, Tanisha combines imagination, humor, family, adventure, and meaningful life lessons to encourage children to embrace who they are and discover the joy of reading. Her books celebrate confidence, self-love, creativity, family, and the importance of dreaming big.
Representation is at the heart of Tanisha’s work. She wants children—especially children of color—to open a book and recognize themselves, their families, their experiences, and their possibilities within its pages.
Today, Tanisha continues to create stories that entertain, encourage, and inspire young readers. Whether she is writing a new adventure, visiting schools, sharing story time, or connecting with young readers in the community, her goal remains the same: to help children believe in themselves and know that their stories matter.
And at the heart of it all is Zuri—the little girl who helped turn an idea into an adventure that continues to grow.

Zuri Grant is a young creative, storyteller, and co-author whose imagination helped inspire the world of Zuri Adventures Books.
Zuri’s journey began when she was just four years old, when she and her sister, author Tanisha Chambers, created their very first story, Zuri and the Monster. What began as a fun childhood experience became the foundation for a growing collection of books inspired by Zuri’s personality, imagination, and adventures.
As Zuri has grown, so has her creativity. She enjoys drawing, singing, dancing, storytelling, learning new things, and expressing herself through the things she loves. She also enjoys playing volleyball, spending time with friends and family, playing video games, and simply enjoying being a teenager.
Zuri brings a genuine child’s perspective to the stories she helps create. Her personality, imagination, experiences, and ideas continue to influence the characters and adventures found throughout the Zuri Adventures series.
As a young co-author, Zuri is discovering that her voice and creativity have the power to inspire other children. She hopes young readers will see themselves in her stories, embrace their individuality, use their imagination, and never be afraid to dream.
From a four-year-old girl creating her first story with her sister to a teenager helping bring new adventures to life, Zuri’s journey is proof that big dreams can begin with something as simple as a child's imagination.
Together, Tanisha and Zuri are creating more than books—they're creating adventures, memories, and stories that encourage children to dream, believe, and be beautifully themselves.
